We went jet skiing at Jebel Ali Beach with Scott, Louise & the kids yesterday…….it was sooooo much fun!!

We all went out on donuts & the kamikazi!!!  Scott & Andrew were the only ones who were brave enough to go on the kamikazi.  Louise & me were on the beach & heard Andrew screaming “stop” to Scott who was driving the jet ski… Scott & Lauren (who was passenger on the jet ski) never heard him and went even faster!  After much screaming and eventually letting go of the kamikazi and bobbing around in the sea, Scott stopped and turned  back.  Once they reached Andrew, Scott asked “What’s the problem mate?” Andrew then replied ” Problem… what’s the f*#$ing problem????  THIS is the problem mate!!” and promptly flipped over and stuck his bare arse in the air!!  The friction on the water has pulled his shorts clean off!! 

Well going by the title of this post, I’m obviously back in Dubai!!  The two weeks in Aberdeen flew by and was great to to catch up with friends & family but it’s great to be home!!

Have been feeling shattered since getting back, I know it’s only a 3  hour difference but I’m shattered around tea time but stay awake so I can sleep at night then by 9pm I’m wide awake till about 1 or 2 am then sleep till 11am!!!  Need to get myself back in gear soon!!

Got back late on Wednesday night…flight was fine, nothing exciting happened (boring) and we were met at the airport by Andrew.  Headed straight home for bed then had my pre-op appointment on Thursday! I’m going in for an operation on 2nd Aug so this was my final appointment prior to going in!  Everything was fine, had to sign some paperwork, get my bloods taken & get general information about what I’m not allowed to do or take before the op.  No exercise, no sunbathing, no alcohol, no multi vitamins ….the list goes on and on!!! Anyway all’s good and next stop is the operating theatre!!  

I managed to go online to Ahlan magazine and got the pic of us at Marti Pellow!! …………..see the “We’re Famous” post if you havent got a clue what I’m on about!!

p.s….I only look taller than them coz I’ve got my heels on…they were both in flatties!!

Arrived back in Aberdeen to be blasted with icy cold air!!  Well it wasn’t THAT cold but it bloody felt like it!!  Have been driving round being taxi driver to the kids since I got here and so far haven’t done much else!  Also… I have now realised that Dubai is home as although it’s great to see my family & friends… I just can’t wait to go home!!!!  Is that really bad?!

Anyway…I must go and get the taxi ready for todays journey’s….back & fore to stoney no doubt!!

Well, we survived the flight from Dubai and we are now in Amsterdam waiting for our connecting flight!  We’ve got nearly 2 hours to kill and coz it’s only 6.45am, we’re not really up for shopping!  We found a little internet zone, paid our 6 euros for 30 mins each & the girls are bebo-ing, I’m updating this (obviously) and Cam is on club penguin after finally getting unbanned…more on that in a minute!!

The flight was fine, we all slept which was great so we’re all feeling not too bad now!  I was quite nervous about travelling on my own with the kids coz if I was alone & got lost and cried then no-one would care but if I’m meant to be playing “mummy” then I need to look as if I know what I’m doing!!  So far, I’ve managed to get away with looking knowledgable AND capable …..I’m doing good eh!!

Anyway, the club penguin story…… one of my friends in Dubai is a dj on a radio station in Dubai and he played a song by My Chemical Romance called “Teenagers” and he hadn’t listened to the song properly before he played it and the chorus goes “Teenagers scare the living sh*t out of me”  He thought he was gonna get his bum kicked over it but didn’t so that was a relief but the only prob was the kids heard it & LOVED the song!!  Anyway, Cam was on this club penguin site (which is a site for kids & they get penguin characters & go and play & do stuff) and he made his penguin “sing” the song…… resulting in him getting banned for using obscene language for 55 hours ….. OOPS!!

Well…. the flights are booked and we’re heading back to Aberdeen tomorrow night!!  We check in at 10pm & arrive in Aberdeen 10am on tuesday morning!  Andrew is not coming with us as he is far too busy to be having holidays…(I think he is just happy with the peace!)  There is a saying in Dubai every summer when the majority of wives & kids leave to escape the heat… Wives Away No Kids Eat Rubbish….. I’ll leave you to work out what that shortens down to   

Went round the Louise’s for a bbq last night….. but as usual Cameron managed to make us late by being his usual accident prone self!!  Andy bought a small pool table for the kids (yeah whatever) to play with and had put it in our front living room!!  I had then shifted it when we had our living room furniture delivered and shoved it in a corner of the breakfast area!  Well… I was in the shower getting ready for the bbq & Cameron was doing cartwheels in the kitchen (as you do!) and ended up under the pool table and split his head open!!  Andrew took him up to the clinic here but they didnt have the glue to stick it together with … they could only stick to together with a biiiiiiiiig needle… why on earth the nurse decided to say that in front of Cameron I’ll never know but you can imagine he went pure white at the thought!!  Anyway, Andrew told them to stick the needle where the sun don’t shine i.e. NOT in Cam’s head and headed for a hospital near Cam’s school!  He had to get a bit of his head shaved & they glued him back together again!!!  In the meantime, while Andrew was driving halfway round Dubai to try and fix Cameron, I went as planned to the bbq… well there was no point in me missing out on a free feed eh…no wine tho!!  

Anyway, it was mentioned that a certain type of vodka, which is much purer than others, mixed with cranberry juice & tonic is a failsafe way to avoid a hangover so we decided to give it a shot…. all in the name of research of course!!  Well….. we had our 1st drink at 5pm and our last drink at 12am with plenty of top ups in between and what can I say….. it WORKED  

I managed to walk home unaided, even managed to pick up something I dropped without falling over & Louise refrained from sleeping on the grass!!  And this morning, I am feeling fandabidozi if only a little tired but after all that research who wouldnt be tired!!  Apparently there is something in the cranberry juice that helps get rid of the toxic stuff in the vodka….. and also will clear up a dose of cystitis at the same time.. WINNER!!!  

Got a text from Louise the other night while I was in my p.j’s asking if I had any wine in the house as she had guests & had run out!  Me being me obviously DID have wine so sent Andrew round with a couple of bottles!!  Andrew was taking forever to come home and eventually I got a call demanding me to come round whether I was in my p.j’s or not or she’d never speak to me again!!  So I chucked on some clothes & headed round for a glass or two of wine!!  Well, I have no idea what happened but all of a sudden me & Louise were ABSOLUTELY GISHED!!!  Half of the night was & still is a complete blank, I can’t even remember getting home and I only live 2 doors away!!  Apparently Louise decided she was having a kip on the grass in her back garden and even worse, I fell asleep sitting on the LOO!!!!  

We are never drinking wine EVER AGAIN!!!!! 

I have just realised that I haven’t updated my blog for ages!  The reason behind this is I have discovered the evils of Bebo!!

The girls have been into Bebo for AGES and I always refused to get involved coz I’m a grown up…well, sometimes!!  My pals out here all have bebo account and I finally caved into peer pressure and joined!  It’s taking over my life but it’s great!!  The amount of people I have found thru it is unbelievable, people that I haven’t seen in SOOOOOO many years!!  Every time I go on to check my email, there’ll be another email saying “New comment from so & so” and I just can’t help but log on for a nosy & before I know it, an hour has passed and I’m still sat there

Anyway, I have actually been having a life apart from Bebo… honest!!  Got my tickets for Pink….woo hoo … I canna wait!!  She’s playing on 5th September!!  Lets see if we can get our faces in Ahlan again!!

Kids are off on holiday now until the middle of september    What I’m gonna do with them, I don’t know!!   We should be heading back to the UK at some point soon but we haven’t booked anything yet so not really sure what’s happening!  It’s getting really hot now, average daily temperature is 42-45oC…. but some days the humidity is soooo high that it feels much hotter.  On these days, you just need to step outside & the sweat is dripping from you….Nice eh!!  If you are out & about and don’t park your car in a shaded car park or under a canopy,  when you get back in your car, the seats (esp if they are leather) are sooooo hot you can’t sit on them & the steering wheel is burning!!  You also have to watch the metal buckles on the seat belts as they heat up too!!  I’ve seen me driving, perched on the edge of the seat and steering with two fingers until the air con kicks in and cools the car down!!

Think I’ll need to take my winter woollies with me when I come back to Scotland
