Went to see the Harlem Globetrotters on Friday night!! They were AMAZING!! I remember them from when I was a kid but to see them in person is unbelievable! We managed to get VIP tickets so we got in half an hour before everyone else to see a wee ”show” before the regular punters arrived! We were sitting courtside…i.e the row RIGHT at the front … RIGHT behind the net (or whatever it is called) …I’m lucky I didnae get a ba’ aff ma heed!! Saying that… kayleigh managed to have a 6ft 6′ basketball player “fall” into her during a game……I was obviously sitting in the wrong place!!
It was a fantastic show & I can honestly say we were peeing ourselves laughing throughout most of the show….especially when loz got pulled up by Globie, the mascot!! To explain the situation, you really had to be there but here goes…. Imagine the situation… we are sitting courtside…. the mid game entertainment is on … i.e a bloke dressed as a weird looking thing with a globe for a head doing bizarre dances etc….(bruce, you’ll know what I’m on about!!) well..anyway…he meanders towards us….I poo myself as he comes towards me (only because my shoe broke..more on that later!) he then diverts himself & grabs Lozza!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
She VERY reluctantly gets pulled up in front of 2 thousand people and is told to copy Globie and do some freakish dancing….she refuse’s, gets kicked up the bum and sent off court!!!!! If anyone doesn’t know what or who Globie is …go to this page & you will see!! ……… http://www.harlemglobetrotters.com/kidscourt/globie.asp She was approached after the show by some random people saying they felt sorry for her & even worse, she was approached by HEAPS of people in her school a few days later saying “ha ha you are a retard!!” Anyway … it was fantastic anyway ( if I’m lucky, I’ll appear in “Hello, Middle East” seeing as I was a front rower!!) Actually, there were a few “women” that I will describe as wannabe WAGS…. they looked like Posh Spice, without the hair & make up… but the jimmy choo’s & chloe bags were there……they might have been from karama for all I know but they looked the part anyway!! back to the point in question….. harlem globetrotters were ace… back to my broken shoe story…. I had flip flop’s on and when we got out of the car , I noticed that the front of my flip flop was ” talking”!! In other words…. the sole of my shoe was flapping against my foot! I walked “abnormally” into the hall & warned the kids that if they made me move I would ground them forever!! When Globie made his advances…the first thought I had was not “oh my god, I’m gonna make an arse of myself in front of HEAPS of people” but “Oh my god, MY SHOE!!!!!!!” Luckily Lauren made an arse of HERSELF and my shoe stayed in the background. Altho I did have to get ALL the players autographs on a shirt to send back to Aberdeen for a charity auction….. might just keep the shirt for myself seeing as I spent SO MUCH time in amongst SWEATY 6FT HUNKS……..call it a reward for hard work!!!!
